From one parent to scholarship champion, Joeann Smith knows exactly what the education changes everything.
From St. Francis County, Joeann is advocating for one parental and educational opportunities for nine years with Arkansas one parent scholarship fund (Aspsf), which is the honor of the Augustus of the month.
Joeann’s story with Aspsf began in the late 1990s when found in the organization of the local city organization meeting. It started the personal involvement flourished in the leadership when she was eligible chairperson, a role held with the dedication of 1998 to 2005.
As a former one parent who worked tireless to achieve a family of self-sufficiency, Joeann understands Firsthand in the challenges that one parents face. Even after the consent of formal leaders of the focus on full-time work and raising children while serving other city institutes, his passion for aspsf’s mission is not fluaughtered.

“He became a volunteer what I wanted to continue assistant and introducing others to the benefits of a single parent scholarship and an organization’s positive impact of breaking cycle and poverty through education,” Joean.
Today, Joeenann focuses his volunteer attempt in the fact that she is not the best, connecting with people. And distributed information and tironibus one parents, help them find life, changing opportunities and Aspsf scholarships can provide.
Her own personal genuine and rooted in the experience of navigating one of the paternity, Aspsf Program Manager Angele Thomas shared.
“When there’s an event or something that needs to be, Joeann steps and shows up the rain and shine – no matter how far it is that she lives” said. “And it is also a huge advocate for the program and connects me to the new collaborations and new volunteers. Joeann is a volunteer who really matters to the mission and loves the program and all that they do.”
Joeann Smith incorporeal spirit of community that makes Aspsf’s work as possible. Her nine years dedicated service, a leadership roles to the grassroots outreach, demonstrate how one person is commitment can create a perpetual change in countless life.
